I wonder if someone can help.
Earlier I posted a question, which to me was valid. The post was deleted. I received no email or PM to say why.
So the query is, can someone (assuming someone deleted it) please tell me why? To me. it was a valid concern. Probably a 'false Positive' but how do I know?
Apologies if I broke some golden rule, but as a newbie here I thought I may have been told why.
Thanks
Maybe its me again, but I tried to PM an admin and couldn't, and also tried to send an email to the admin address advertised and that failed. Hence this repost.

Re: Post deleted - why? (TwonkySpecial - Trend reports a tro
Well, basically I wanted to test Twonky Special 7 (server) with a view to purchasing.
I downloaded it, and as I always do (if possible just to play safe) I checked the file at VirusTotal.
I suspect its a false positive, but one of the AV checkers "TrendMicro-House call" reported a trojan, as "TROJ_GEN.F47V0719".
I'm just concerned if this is a false positive or not.
I tried to email Trend, but just wondered if this was something you are aware of, or if you'd have better luck convincing Trend all is actually OK.
Thanks

Re: Post deleted - why?
I havent noticed twonky ever being flagged by the av scanners that I use as containging trojans
that's not to say that it isnt, files sitting on servers are subject to change
If you think that it is real, I would report it to twonky support and you av company

Re: Post deleted - why?
I emailed Trend 2 or 3 days ago.
But its still failing - https://www.virustotal.com/file/9e5aa79 ... 347444387/
I suspect it is an FP, but I'm not expert enough to know.

Re: Post deleted - why? (TwonkySpecial - Trend reports a tro
Extra Info.
From the Twonky Website - "TwonkyManager includes the latest TwonkyServer", so I uploaded TwonkyManager to virustotal and it does NOT show as a trojan.
So basic question (as 'special' still shows as a trojan, and as 'Mamager' does not) I may have a bash at using Manager instead.
BUT here is the next question (forgive me if this sounds daft, I'm new to all this server stuff). All I want to do at this stage is stream music, pictures and videos to my DLNA TV. I thought 'Special' did this and as its all I wanted to do would be my best choice. Does Manager also do this? and what extras does Manager add? I'm not really interested in www networking sites etc I just want to stream on my own network to my own TV.
Q. Whats the best one to use, special or manager, and what are the main differences?
Thanks

Re: Post deleted - why? (TwonkySpecial - Trend reports a tro
twonky manager the product includes twonky server special
twonky manager the application is as its nams suggest, its a media manager
that allows you to do things with the media being streamed from twonky server
twonky special does not include twonky manager
twonky special is the media streaming server
that all things would be connecting to via dlna protocols
best is a subjective term, one mans perception of best is not another mans perception of best
with that said, its reall about what you are trying to accomplish
if it is just to stream media, then twonky server is all you need to get the job done

Thanks
I'll guess I'll wait until 'special' shows clean then. Maybe email Trend again.

I think this is a false-positive because of the network scanning that we do, but I've asked them to double-check. There must be some way we can report this to Trend, so they can resolve it.
