G'day all, well, i took the plunge and upgraded my Ubuntu Server from 10.0.4 to 12.04.1 (latest) thinking that my Twonky would jsut keep working ...

Well, it kinda does. but it wont auto-start anymore ...

But now I see that there is a new version out - TwonkySpecial 7.

I'm assuming that my Key will work with 7 as per normal ...

Now, the hard question.

How to upgrade a Linux install of Twonky Server, on Ubuntu 12.

I have searched, and as far as i can tell, the majority of users have moved to NAS devices, thus the dearth of Linux posts here ...

Can Anyone assist ?

Cheers

I'm no expert on linux related tasks
but, if you can get it working, your past the first step

I know that to get a script to be added for removed from auto startup
one could make all the links by hand in the rc.#.d folders
or they can use the "update-rc.d" command

If the twonky.sh is working
I know that a copy of it should go into the folder without the extention /etc/init.d/

this would add twonky script for startup

# update-rc.d twonky defaults

this would remove it from startup

# update-rc.d -f twonky remove

I have done this on debian running on my nas
