We are please to announce that the Mac, Windows and Linux versions of TwonkyServer 7.0.11 are now available for download on Twonky.com.

You can download them here: http://www.twonky.com/support/downloads.aspx

I've put in a request for the NAS builds of 7.0.11, but normally it takes a little longer to get those. I'll will post the link here once it's available

Changes in TwonkyServer 7.0.11

Here is the list of the improvements since our last server release:

- Improved file scanner: 3g2 and 3gp2 file extensions are recognized correctly
- Improved interoperability with WD TV Live
- Fixed an installing problem for Twonky on Mac OS 10.8 (Mountain Lion)
- Fixed a problem with m1v file extensions
- Fixed a problem for shared folder options that were set to “Video” only. MP4-videos (and possibly other container formats) were not detected and therefore not shown in the shared media items.
- Fixed the white-listed directories for Mac OS
- Fixed problems for non-jpeg images that couldn't be displayed on Xbox
- Aggregation fixed
- Fixed a bug for .f4v files which contained audio only but where recognized as video
- Fixed a bug for streaming .mp4 videos that caused high CPU usage.
- Fixed a problem for constant CPU load when not-existing folders were shared.
- File size and year are no longer visible for content items in the myTwonky-folders

my thoughs on Twonky 7.0.11 and Twonky 7.0.12-RC1

Twonky 7.0.11 seems to behave like the other released os versions

Twonky 7.0.12-RC1 seems resolve most of these behaviors found in 7.0.11

Both have the same web page page refresh issue I noted in 7.1.2
the resolution is also applicablre to 7.0.11 and 7.0.12

How to fix the page refresh bug in Twonky 7.1.2 Special Web Interface

Is the playlist generation bug fixed in this release, too?

I cant remeber if it was in 7.0.11 or 7.0.12
but I do remember testing some of that
and what I saw was that there seems to be some sort of a fix in it
I created some playlists with entries to things that didnt exist
on first load it didnt look fixed, but then a refresh seemed to clear it up
so I would say its half fixed, as in 6.x this never happened

Just installed the Kirkwood version of 7.0.12RC1 on my LS-XHL and it has a bug that wasn't in 7.0.9:
Under Media Receivers in Sharing there are MANY duplicates of all of the receivers. I have applied the config.js browser update fix mentioned in this thread but it didn't help with this bug.

I have seen a few people post about that issue
which yes, is different than the other bug
the other bug was fixable, as it was a web interface display bug
but this new one is at the server and not something we can fix in the config.js
I have seen this prop up one time in 7.0.9, never was able reproduce it

It was mentioned in this thread and one other
http://community.twonky.com/twonky/topi ... e_behavior

I would start a new thread on the community site, as this site is not looked at by twonky support wise
just us long time die hards

I "think" it might have been fixed in 7.1.2, not sure, but it isnt available for nas anyways,
also marco from twonky noted it as being dealt with, but I think the jury is still out on that in 7.1.2
so its the wait game again

Hi Phiberton,

I updated my MBL to the latest version. 02.41.05-034

Now again i can not see MBL from my Samsung LCD tv.

I also read that this update is giving the opportunity to play mkv files directly without the need of Twonky server. But i totally not seeing my LCD tv.

What do you suggest me to do?
How can i totally erase the Twonky and make a fresh install for Twonky?

Thanks.

I too updated to 02.41.05-034
What version of twonky was on the nas before the upgrade?
As with any firmware update from WD, it will always reset you twonky
and you will always have to reinstall it
at present the same scripts used from before to do that are still valid

yes i updated to 7.0.12 RC1 of Twonky. Now it started working but also with the problems of not showing the connected devices details and the media counters...

But i read that there is a new support for mkv files directly from WD without the twonky.. Did you read the WD update log?

How can we operate mkv files without twonky?

If you were running 7.0.12 before, what ever issues existed then wouldn't change, I run 7.0.9
But i read that there is a new support for mkv files directly from WD without the twonky.. Did you read the WD update log?
I read release notes, and yes WD media server states it supports mkv
How can we operate mkv files without twonky?
As with any other media server if it says it supports something and the client says it supports it
then it should work, if it doesn't, I don't know
as the dlna server from WD is not as configurable as twonky is
everything has pluses and minuses
