certain music files not appearing in playlists

hi guys experiencing a slight problem that has me baffled.

twonky server grabs my music and itunes playlists without issue except one. certain songs refuse to appear in playlists. eg within itunes itself, a playlist has 198 songs and within twonky only 186 show. i've checked 127.0.0.1:9000/webbrowse#music and the missing tracks do show under the relevant artists or albums. just not in the playlists.

i've tried removing the affected songs from the actual itunes playlist, re-adding them to see if twonky then picks them up, but this does not work. i've tried creating a brand new playlist within itunes and adding just the 12 missing songs. the playlist folder entry shows in twonky but with '0 items'

any clues?

are there any special characters in the filenames or title tag of the items?

are the files in some place different than the rest of you items?

yes very odd and nothing tag-wise seems out of order. as in my op, the files that are missing from the playlist all show up fine if i browse by the album or artist etc. is there any way of posting screengrabs to show what i am seeing?

so far within the twonky server settings, i've tried restarting server, rescan content folders, reset to defaults and clearing cache. nothing works.

with the ones that aren't working
and a couple of ones that are working

hopefully it is self explanatory but the main things you can see are

1 - from the itunes application screengrab, tracks 2 3 & 4 (pixies - surfer rosa) are not appearing in the relevant twonky playlist (twonky2.jpg). there are 9 more tracks loaded in the itunes playlist that are missing but they appear below the 20 tracks shown in the screengrab.

2 - the first picture (twonky1.jpg) shows 186 items yet the itunes window (twonky3.jpg) shows 198 items.

3 - pictures 4 & 5 show that the pixies surfer rosa album appears as it should if browsed by album or artist

based on what I see from the pics and what you have already tried

My first thought is that the files are in a twonky blacklisted folder or sub folder of one
But since they are showing up in the navtree, that doesn't appear to be the case, it might though...

Are any of those files in question located in any of the blacklisted folders from the below post?
also, are the missing files located locally or remotely such as on a network share?

One thing to try is this
1 create a test playlist in iTunes
2 add the 12 mystery songs to it
3 export the test playlist to an m3u file, and save it into the root folder that is where your music share is located
4 wait for twonky to detect it
5 goto the twonky playlists and view it
6 does doing this show the files now?

all music is located in the same one place

C:\Users\Stuart P\Music

and as you say the files show up when browsing via artist or album within twonky server. thanks for the test playlist scenario but that has not worked. i added 8 songs from the same album as above (surfer rosa) and put the exported m3u file in C:\Users\Stuart P\Music\ and it shows 0 files

so to repeat, the affected album shows in full within the twonky server nav-tree except any for playlists. weird.

the other idea I had was that maybe it was related to drm
but that still wouldn't explain them showing up in the navtree
this is an odd one indeed

I would contact twonky via email on this one, help@twonky.com and or support@twonky.com
