using a playlist with TS 7.2.8

Post by floid99 » Wed Oct 15, 2014 6:49 pm

Hello everybody
I want to add my playlist to the T.S. 7.2.8
I just made the m3u file with VLC but I don’t know where I must save this file.
I tried to saved it in twonkey’s music folder but it doesn’t work
Somebody can help me
Thanks in advance

you put it in the right place,
in the root of the media share for that media type

where is twonky installed?
are the paths in the m3u local or remote?
did you try to do a rescan?

I have had good luck using windows playlists .wpl

example.wpl
<?wpl version="1.0"?>
<smil>
<head>
<meta name="Generator" content="Twonky"/>
<meta name="ItemCount" content="10"/>
<meta name="Type" content="M"/>
<title>Random Playlist</title>
</head>
<body>
<seq>
<media src="D:\shares\Music\Metallica\Master of Puppets.mp3"/>
<media src="D:\shares\Music\Black Sabbath\War Pigs.mp3"/>
<media src="D:\shares\Music\System of a Down\Chop Suey.mp3"/>
<media src="D:\shares\Music\Megadeth\Holy Wars The Punishment Due.mp3"/>
<media src="D:\shares\Music\X Japan\Art of Life.mp3"/>
<media src="D:\shares\Music\Judas Priest\Painkiller.mp3"/>
<media src="D:\shares\Music\Iron Maiden\The Trooper.mp3"/>
<media src="D:\shares\Music\Antim Grahan\Forever Winter.mp3"/>
<media src="D:\shares\Music\Dio\Holy Diver.mp3"/>
<media src="D:\shares\Music\Ozzy Osbourne\Crazy Train.mp3"/>
</seq>
</body>
</smil>
I keep my m3u simple like this

example.m3u
D:\shares\Music\Metallica\Master of Puppets.mp3
D:\shares\Music\Black Sabbath\War Pigs.mp3
D:\shares\Music\System of a Down\Chop Suey.mp3
D:\shares\Music\Megadeth\Holy Wars The Punishment Due.mp3
D:\shares\Music\X Japan\Art of Life.mp3
D:\shares\Music\Judas Priest\Painkiller.mp3
D:\shares\Music\Iron Maiden\The Trooper.mp3
D:\shares\Music\Antim Grahan\Forever Winter.mp3
D:\shares\Music\Dio\Holy Diver.mp3
D:\shares\Music\Ozzy Osbourne\Crazy Train.mp3

Twonky is installed in "C:\Archivos de programa\Twonky\TwonkyServer"

This is the only one line of m3u file:
R:\Musica2\Jinetes Negros\01 El Jinete Negro.mp3

And this is the wpl file
<?wpl version="1.0"?>
<smil>
<head>
<meta name="Generator" content="Twonky"/>
<meta name="AverageRating" content="50"/>
<meta name="TotalDuration" content="251"/>
<meta name="Type" content="M"/>
<meta name="ItemCount" content="1"/>
<title>Lista de reproducción3</title>
</head>
<body>
<seq>
<media src="R:\Musica2\Jinetes Negros\01 El Jinete Negro.mp3"/>
</seq>
</body>
</smil>

Both are in R:\Musica2 folder
And R:\Musica2 folder is the folder defined in sharing screen for music
I have checked only the left checkbox, not the right one (available for agregation)

I turned off and on the machine but I cant see the playlists, I only see “Most Played”, “Last Played” and “Recently added”

Is R:\ a local physical drive or is it a mapped network drive?

It is a Iomega usb disk drive, I changed the default letter by R (removable)
I never unplug the usb drive

Not sure why it isn't working
But I suspect it might be removable drive related and twonky
not that the drive is the issue, but twonky has some sort of thing with removable media
