WD MyCloud TwonkyServer Version: 7.2.9_7.5.0-43

Hi,

I would like to hear internet radio via DLNA. All tips with .m3u files did not help me. The .m3u items read from Twonky. And also a DLNA client I can see the entries in the .m3u files. As soon as I activate the menu items I get an error message. It only works with VLC Media Player on the PC.

If I for example, a radio station that is in a .m3u file, click it from the PC, immediately opens a window asking if the file with VLC should be executed. When I do the same thing with my DLNA TV I get an error message.

All other files (music, video, photo) will be played error-free from DLNA TV.

What can I do so that I only menu item as it is provided by the Twonky DLNA client, click so need I can listen to Internet radio?

greeting
Lucky

Depending on the client and the format of the radio station
some stations will only stream to a web browser
- the dlna client might not be able to actually play the stream
- the computer asking to open it in another program, same thing

First see if using a WPL (windows play list) file helps

Example.wpl
<?wpl version="1.0"?>
<smil>
<head>
<meta name="Type" content="M"/>
<title>some shoutcast channels</title>
</head>
<body>
<seq>
<media src="http://yp.shoutcast.com/sbin/tunein-sta ... s?id=20594" title="Radio ZU Live"/>
<media src="http://yp.shoutcast.com/sbin/tunein-station.pls?id=816" title="Joy Turk"/>
<media src="http://yp.shoutcast.com/sbin/tunein-sta ... id=1278832" title="Mostly Classical - S K Y . F M"/>
</seq>
</body>
</smil>
A while back twonky introduced twonky proxy to act as a middle man for this problem
Which we can look at, IF it is included in twonky on your nas
