Hello,

I use Twonky Server 7.2.8 (twonky-mipsel-glibc-2.3.2-7.2.8.zip) on Dune Smart D1 as DLNA media server.

I have a problem with streaming of DSD audio files (.dsf) over an Ethernet connection to receiver Onkyo TX-NR818.
Twonky Server allows .dsf files to be seen on the Onkyo TX-NR818 internal media player, it won't play them - I get an error "Can't play".

I see in revision history that support for DSD file format added in version 7.2.7. But it does not work!

Please help!

Are you sure the Onkyo TX-NR818 supports DSD files?

Doing a google search its should, if the right firmware is one there
and looking at the manual on page 109

For server playback and playback from a USB device, the
AV receiver supports the following music file formats.
Variable bit-rate (VBR) files are supported. However,
playback times may not display correctly.
Note
• With remote playback, the AV receiver does not support the
following music file formats: FLAC and Ogg Vorbis.
• In the case of server playback, the above-mentioned file formats
may not be played depending on the server type.

• The sampling rate of 2.8224 MHz is supported.

what is twonky assigning to your client for a "Media Receiver Type" ?

1) Twonky assigning Media Receiver Type: ONKYO.
2) All my .dsf files is 2.8224 MHz .
3) I can't stream .dsf files only (.flac and .wav - is Ok).

I wonder if you change the extention on test .dsf file to .dsd
and see if that helps or not

I changed the extension to:
.dsd - file not visible in Onkyo TX-NR818 internal media player.
.dsf - I get an error "Can't play".
