Hi,

i changed the MediaBrowser.js of TwonkyMedia 4.x again. It uses the FLASH MP3 PLAYER to play mp3 and m3u files.

Here is the list of changes from the readme:
- Fixed problem with loading in IE6 and IE7
- Now also works for m3u playlists lists
- updated to FLASH MP3 PLAYER 3.8
- added "no cover" image
- added cover support for mp3 files

Here is a screenshot:

You can download the changed version here: Flash MP3 Player for TwonkyMedia 4.x

P.s.: I had to recreate the code from scratch. Even if the fronted is the same the code works totally different internally. So if you find any problems leave a message.

I hope you enjoy it

Access over wlan

Hi,

I missed the most important change in my last post.
The streaming over wan is working now!!
My code replaces the IP address of the link that is generated form the server with the one that the browser points to on the fly before passing it to the player (even inside play lists!).

I only had time to do some basic testing. I'm interested in your results.

Good luck

New verison V070604

Hi all,

I fixed a small timing problem. The playlist should now be loaded without problems.
In the old version you needed to select the shuffle on or off to load the playlist sometimes. The problem was that the script tried to load the titles into the player before it was ready.

The download link is the same. You can take the one from the first post.

Impressive.
How do you tell Twonkyvision to use your player? Where is the setting we need to change?

Hi k1200rs,

you do not need to change any settings. Simply copied the filed that are in the resources folder of the zip archive to the resources folder inside your Twonky installation folder. That's it.

You do not need to restart the server, simply point to the MediaBrowser and it will us the player

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the great work - it works perfectly! How about suggesting that Twonky incorporate it into the official release?

Wan access easy

For me I finished all experiments with the Twonky and Wan-access!
On my NSLU2 I installed 'python' - it runs on every system, I think, even on a windows system...
As a wan music-Server I use 'edna' http://edna.sourceforge.net/.
It's easy to configure (edit a small and easy to understand conf-file), it even has a password-protection.
Of course I use Twonky in my home-network for the NOXON2 and NetgearMP101!
If you need more infos (installing on NSLU...) feel free to repost!

The prog is very fast and it really streams (works good with winamp)

Album Art

Hi,

I've been using this for a few days now and it seems to work very well.

I don't understand how albumart is supposed to work though. What kind of file (name, type, place) should be used to show the album art?

Add a "cover"-tag with an image embedded in the mp3-file. Nice free utility:
"Mp3Tag" http://www.mp3tag.de/

Hey,

@HaPe
I have downloaded it, unzipped to resource folder in Twonky installation folder, then going to http://10.2.0.1:9001/webbrowse and when I choose any mp3 file to play windows pop's up asking what should I do with this file.

What should I set to open it using Flash MP3 Player?

EDIT

I installed version 4.3 and it works fine, does not works with latest beta, at least for me, any1 can confirm it?

Hi,

webbrowse is not supported at the moment. I will try to intigrate it, but at the moment i have no idea how. As the htm is now generated by twonkymedia in the fly.
If you take the current beta and open http://10.2.0.1:9001/Mediabroeser the it should still work.

How do you use it on an WII?
With a web browser?

Yeps - with a web browser.
The wii has an internet channel - I just direct the browser to the twonky media browser as I would normally do and "hey presto" there it is just like on a PC or Mac!

Thanks for that tip---I hadn't come across edna before.

I've put edna in a folder on my unslung NSLU2, started it from a shell and tried streaming mp3s over port 8080 to an external connection, with success. So now I'd like to do a

Code: Select all

make install-daemon
for edna. Did you successfully hack the edna init.d stuff to work on an unslung NSLU2?

Twonkymedia 4.4 and MediaBrowser

Yes you are right. I'm searching for a way to make it possible.

Until that you can continue to use the MediaBrowser. To do that in 4.4 you need to do the following:
1.) You need to have version 4.3 somewhere.
2.) Copy the MediaBrowser.html from the resources folder of version 4.3 and my files into the resources folder of version 4.4.
3.) Now you can access the MediaBrowser with: http://x.x.x.x:9000/configpage/MediaBrowser.html

It will still work like it did in 4.3
