Enabling iTunes playlist import on a QNAP NAS

Hi all

Running QPKG 8.0.4 on my QNAP TS-269L. I've moved my iTunes library (including XML file) over to the NAS from my laptop, and have included the XML file in the path of files that are being scanned. However, I can't make the (standard, not smart) iTunes playlists from the XML file appear in my list of playlists.

I've tried using the rpc calls to set the ituneslib value, but it doesn't seem to matter.

Has anyone got this working in a similar scenario?

i have the same problem.

my whole library is placed into the Multimedia/Music/itunes Media folder of my QNAP 212. The library.itl and .xml are also placed on the QNAP in Mulitmedia/Music folder.


i tried the 2 following things:

1. Scan the Mulitmediafolder for all types

2. using the following command:

http://192.168.178.31:9000/rpc/set_opti ... ibrary.xml


But Twonky won't show my playlists.


Can anyone please try to help me? Is it possible with the qnap and the latest twonky 8 ?


I remember i made that work years ago with an old twonky kirkwood running on a Linkstation.

Same for me. Seems like it is a common problem. I searched and tried things for many hours without success.

However in Twonky 4.4.17 it works. Here are both .ini files to compare. Maybe anyone can find some mistake:


For twonky 4 using the getall command , the ituneslib links to /Multimedia/Music/iTunes+Library.xml. So i tried to set it the same for Twonky 8.1.1 without success.
