Rebuild Database

Post by daveinjersey » Thu Apr 07, 2016 6:47 pm

Running 8.1.2 on Windows 10. Missing songs from albums and showing songs from different albums. Assume my index is screwed up. Tried running Rescan. Not sure if this is meant to rebuild the database or not. Have 1000's of songs so would expect a rebuild to run for some time, but it takes only a few minutes. Doesn't fix the problem. I've seen refs to Rebuilding the database in earlier versions, but find no control for that in the 8.1.2 interface. Found refs to running either http://127.0.0.1:9000/rpc/rebuild or http://<ip-of-your-nas:9000>/rpc/rebuild (where ip is shown as network interface on the Status page?) but those just showed first - re-starting server, then - 404: not found.

Am I correct that I need to rebuild my index? If so, can someone please advise how?

Thanks

OK, I dunno what happened. Every time I ran the rebuild URL I got the File Not Found error (Firefox, IE, Chrome). But looking this morning, it appears that everything's back where it belongs. Guess I'm OK.
