Folder problem

I have navigation set as 'by folder".
How do I get MY foldesr to show up and have all the folders in those foldesr as sub folders as opposed to what I see now which is all the sub folders and not the original folder
Eg I have a" new series:" folder and inside are 20 series folders...I don't see the "new series" fold" but I see all the 20 series folders but I would like to only see the "new series" folder and the others when I open that folder.
