PS3 HTTP:Cannot Receive Header Error

Post by sanzre » Thu Jun 14, 2007 1:00 am

Hello Everyone
I'm running 4.4 Beta 4 and until Beta 3 it seems that this was the closest of the DLNA servers i have tried, to work with my PS3, on Beta 3 i was able to see my photos for a little while and stream a bit of video and had no problems with WMAs.
I installed Beta 4 because i was getting disconnections mainly when playing video. With Beta 4 i'm able to see my folders but then trying to see content i get disconnected ( the Twonkymedia server appears and disapears on my PS3 ).
I'm running Windows XP Media center on my server, currently i'm having a wired connection to avoid wifi performance issues.
This is the log i get from Twonkymedia server:

Seems that my problem is the Cannot Receive Header error, i've seen other people have been successful, any suggestions on what can i change on my settings on the Server, on Windows Firewall or on My Linksys WRT54G Router (no wireless for now) ?

Update
I've restarted the server, changed the streaming buffer size to 128000, changed configuration on server network card to 100Mbp Full Duplex to prevent negotiation and Enabled TCP segmentation, now I don't get disconnected from the server but opening photos takes for ever, and video is choppy.

Hmm, not the 1st time I have heard of people with this particular router having problems....

Try connecting the PS3 and PC directly, using a crossover cable, and static IP's the same range. Does it then work? If so, then you can instantly rule out your PS3, PC and Twonkyvision, and look at your router, and possible network collisions....

Thank you Mark
It is a router issue !!, I have updated my Linksys WRT54G to version 4.21.1, and i'm no longer getting the error message.
To stream the configuration i have configured QoS for the Server with highest priority on the wired port i'm using for the server
I've gone back to wireless on my PS3, I configured back the network card to TCP Segmentation disable and now with the new router version i'm no longer being disconnected from the server when looking photos, and i'm able to stream WMA audio without issues, some of my less compress video still is a bit choppy, but now that i know where the problem was i'll try and streamline my router configuration.
TwonkyMedia is a great product, the only thing i'm missing now is DVR-ms on the fly transcoding, i'll have to transcode on the background with some other application
