Duplicate Titles in 4.3 and 4.4 Linux?

Post by robinpc » Tue Jul 31, 2007 3:29 am

I'm seeing an odd situation running 4.3 or 4.4 on Ubuntu Feisty linux.

For a given artist or album the title is duplicated exactly ten times in a UPNP display. The example below is Cidero, but the same appears on the TV screen driven directly by a D-Link 320.

I've checked for duplicate files and for duplicate tags and all seems to be in order. Have also reinstalled from scratch with fresh configuration.

Any help or thoughts from support folks or other users here?

Do you also run iTunes? I've seen xml library backups do this.

Well, not iTunes per se, it's a linux box (albeit with Crossover Office), but I have run gtkpod from time to time, which does create xml formatted library descriptors. But I don't see how TVision would see them ... the descriptors would be in the home directory in a dotted directory, and TV is in /usr/local.

How does this scenario play out?

Hello all, I am running Ubuntu Linux 7.04 with a trial version of Twonky to connect to my Xbox360. I am seeing duplicate Genres and Albums under the xbox360 interface. Anybody know why this is happening? How can I fix this?

Duplicates and Volume

So far no "good" solution.

I split the largeish (100GB) music collection into fourths to attempt to discover if the problem was file-based (someone suggested a rogue XML file in a directory that might have recursively added entries).

The effect surprised me - no one directory was the problem cause, but splitting things into fourths made the problem go away ... for now.

Makes me wonder of TVision has a volume issue, maybe at the db level
