Navigation Tree

Post by pommie » Tue Aug 21, 2007 4:56 am

Im using Twonky 4.1 and it suits my prupose therefore I'm reluctant to upgrade to 4.4 given the problems people are experiencing.

My question:

Is it possible to create a navigation tree that sort by folder alphabetical.

I.e

Level 1 = A or B or C
Level 2 = Folder name (this would be the artist)
Level 3 = The album name

Thanks

Christian, please by all means also put an option for the following as well, for navigation:

- Can you make an option to hide "All Pictures", "All Video" and "All Music" entries in the navigation tree?

- Navigation tree folder name enhancements:

Let's say I want to add a directory to the share, for example:
D:\Music\Mp3\Blub\
This directory contains a number of files...
a.mp3
b.mp3
c.mp3
I add the directory to the share and set it up as "Music-Only", which tells Twonky that it should be displayed under the Music root folder.
Now, the problem is that Twonky will not add this directory to the Music root folder, but rather the files it contains:
Music\
a.mp3
b.mp3
c.mp3
There should be a way of making the directory appear as a subdirectory under the root folder:
Music\Blub\
a.mp3
b.mp3
c.mp3
If all shared music files are shoved directly into the root folder things get real messy.

Ie: if I share a folder called "XYZ", I would like TwonkyMedia to show this folder in the navigation tree, keeping its structure intact and letting me browse it the way it is originally organized on the PC side.

Every other Media Server does this for folder navigation, the quite horrible Tversity, FUPES, etc.. so why not Twonky!?

Thanks in advance if you can incorporate these 2 request.

TheShadowRunner, what does this have to do with the OP's question?

You've posted this a number of times, and I still can't figure out what you're getting at. Twonky has a folder navigation tree; doesn't that fulfill this need?

It's a navigation tree suggestion as well.

Not with the way it currently works for folder navigation, no.

Currently Im using Artist Index to navigate through my Mp3's.

The top level looks fine as i.e

ABC

However the next level should in theory contain one artist name example Bryan Adams, then list all my Bryan Adams albums underneath.

The problem is that Twonky finds all the B artists which could look like this:-

Assuming typos or whatever exist with the MP3 ID tag

Bryan Adams
Bryan Adams
BryanAdams

I hope this explains my requirements better?

Thanks

Well...dirty tags will cause problems like this...you'll need to clean them up. Plenty of easy utilities to do this..I recommend MediaMonkey, or iTunes, etc.

Thanks for your advice.

Do you know if there are any automated tools that would save me a lot of time.

I use Itunes but have not seen this function?
