JW MP3 PLAYER addon for V4.4.1 wiht wan access V070909

Post by HaPe » Sun Sep 09, 2007 11:55 am

Hi all,

here comes the next version. It adds a new player mode and fixes the navigation problem when using wan access.

There is now a new default player mode that shows the player in the same window as the navigation. The Navigation can still be used:
Image

The old mode, that shows the player in a separate window, is still there:

Read the included readme for more information.
I tested it with Firefox, Oprea and Internet Explorer.

JW MP3 Player addon for TwonkyMedia 4.4.1

As stated in the title you need to have TwonkyMedia V4.4.1 .

To access the new version you need to go to http://x.x.x.x:9000/webbrowse-js instead of http://x.x.x.x:9000/webbrowse after installing the add on !!

I hope you enjoy it

I've just found the problem with the M3U playlists not playing on my Wii too. I'm using Twonky 4.4.2 on Windows XP.

Is there something I can do on my end to optimize or tweak this?
Hm, never had this. Do you get the list of titles in the lower part or is this empty?
It's empty

Did you browser gives any javascript error message?
Did you try a different browser?
Do you have any add or popup filter enabled?
No error messages in the browser, and there's no control over pop-ups. I get the same error in the new embedded version of the player.

This works on a PC using Firefox.

It's not easy to get the details from a Wii as there seems to be no way to export text. I had to photograph the TV and type in the debug statements
The debug produced the following:

Hi craggy,

it looks like the swf (flash) player is not loaded. I expect that you also do not see the Player controls. Right?
You should only see the Album art and the text that is to the right of it.

Dose the WII support flash? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Flash

Thanks for the quick response HaPe.
As Tsugantino said, the player works fine for single tracks, but not for anything above that (albums, playlists etc.). The controls are there, but the progress bar is at about 40% and not moving, and pressing Play doesn't work.
I've just been reading up, and it seems that the Wii has the rather ancient Flash v7 as that's all Macromedia released as an SDK. Perhaps this is a part of the problem?

Hi,

hm, that is strange. The error message is at that point when the code first tries to access the loaded flash object to add the titles to it.

The code works different if you use a single file. Then the file name is directly send to the player when it is created.

For a play list I need to check first if the XML play list is available, as the player only supports XML play list and Twonky do not deliver XML play lists for every constellation.
As a result of the, the script reads the playlist and then adds the titels manually to the player. The script stops at the place where it first tries to access the player and says that the player object dose not exist.

So for some strange reason the code dose not get the player object correctly on the WII. Did you try to use the shuffle on/off links in the player window, as they trigger the reloading of the Playlist into the player. Perhaps it is to fast the first time...

I'll try using shuffle when I get a chance and let you know what happens. Thanks again.

Can this player be installed on the Maxtor Shared Storage + NAS drive?

Edit: Nevermind, I read the documentation that came with it and it was very easy.

Hi HaPe,
Shuffle On/Off makes no difference I'm afraid.

Hi

I really like this mp3 player... Nice work...

There's just one thing turning me a bit crazy: when I request a full album from twonky page, they're loaded in reverse into mp3 player so it starts with the album's last track and goes back up to first :(

Laters...

PS: I use Twonky media 4.4.4 if that matters

This MP3 player seems to be exaclty what I am after however I cannot get it working.

I am using a buffalo linkstation live and twonky 4.4.

I have tried directly copying the files into the resources directory and also copying the files into the resources directory in the twonky install package and then installing.

Currently when I go to webbrowse-js I just get an empty twonky background.

Can anyone help me? Thank you.

JW MP3 PLAYER addon for V4.4.1: problem with Firefox 3

Post by einheinz » Tue Jul 15, 2008 6:48 pm

Hi,

registered to the forum because sadly I have to report the same problem as bookmark since I upgraded to Firefox 3.0. Just an empty Twonky background, no navigation, no buttons, no information about the current node.

Operating system is Windows XP SP2 with current fixes and Flash 9.0 r124, see signature for server configuration. Today I installed Firefox 2.0.0.16 as a parallel install and it works from there as it used to using the same Firefox profile. Curiously the player won't work under Internet Explorer 7 either but I tried for the first time only when it stopped working under Firefox. Using safe mode with Firefox doesn't help either. Regular navigation (using webbrowse instead of webbrowse-js) works without problems.

Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Heinz

Hi Bookmark, Einheinz and all other,

sorry for the late response, the info mail on thread updates stopped working. For that reason I was not informed about your questions.

Since November last year I own an Buffalo Linkstation pro duo with the twonkymedia inside the firmware (it is version 4.4.5) and I realized that there is a bug in the generated html code. I informed twonkymedia about that bud diden't got any response until now.
I expect that this bug is in the other OS versions too, as I expect them to use one source code for all platforms

You can wait and hope that they fix it or take a HEX editor and do the fix manually.

Take your twonkymedia main executable, for my Buffalo with FW V3.0.6 it is /usr/local/twonky/twonkymediaserver .Then search for The text =>"%s/webbrowse-js.js"<=. You should find something like:

Code: Select all

0006 A060: 3C 73 63 72 69 70 74 20 74 79 70 65 3D 22 74 65 <script type="te
0006 A070: 78 74 2F 6A 61 76 61 73 63 72 69 70 74 22 20 73 xt/javascript" s
0006 A080: 72 63 3D 22 25 73 2F 77 65 62 62 72 6F 77 73 65 rc="%s/webbrowse
0006 A090: 2D 6A 73 2E 6A 73 22 3E 00 00 00 00 3C 21 44 4F -js.js"> <!DO
and replace ti to =>"%s/j.js"></script> <= that it looks like:

Code: Select all

0006 A060: 3C 73 63 72 69 70 74 20 74 79 70 65 3D 22 74 65 <script type="te
0006 A070: 78 74 2F 6A 61 76 61 73 63 72 69 70 74 22 20 73 xt/javascript" s
0006 A080: 72 63 3D 22 25 73 2F 6A 2E 6A 73 22 3E 3C 2F 73 rc="%s/j.js"></s
0006 A090: 63 72 69 70 74 3E 20 20 00 00 00 00 3C 21 44 4F cript> <!DO
The last step ist to rename the webbrowse-js.js in your html folder to j.js .

That's it. Now everything should work again including Firefox 3.

This seems to be the thing I'm really looking for since I got an wii.

But I can't get it to work.
Twonky 4.4.9 running on an xp-machine.

Copied the files to resources and changed the file in hex edit

Before changing it was blank screen.

Now then looking from the pc there seems to miss some navigation pictures
and then choosing a song an error says a ) is missing.

From the wii I can see all songs but don't play.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Is there anywhere a file that I can upload directly using the Lacie configuration interface, to update the current version I have (442 without JW Player) to your version?

I am not well versed on linux to add the new webbrowse and to add more edits as your post mentioned.

Appreciate if you could let me know if such file exists or not.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

i heard more then once before that it is not working on the WII. I do not know if the browser on the WII (Opera as fare as I know) support Flash applets. Flash is needed as the player is a Flash object. Also it uses Javascript very intensive to get the song data and feed them to the Flash player.
I expect that the Javascript or Flash support of the WII browser is the problem.
I have no idea how I should help you.

Sorry, I can not share the changed program file. This is not allowed by TwonkyMedia and there are to many plattforms that are supported by Twonkymedia.
