change of upnp-links after server restart

Hi everyone!

I am evaluating twonky and found an annoying feature/bug. When I restart the server (running on W2K3), all upnp links change. So if I create a playlist on my client I cannot use it after a restart because all the files have different links.

Is there any way to change this behavior?

thanks for your help,
Andreas

Has noone the same situation or am I the only one who wants to create playlists on a client.

How can I configure the server to create the same link for the same file at every boot?

thanks,
Andreas

You cannot.

Everytime a new uPnP server session is initiated, all objects are assigned unique ID's and they will never be the same.

I have found this with all uPnP servers that I have tested.

ouch!

thanks for your help! So how can you then create a playlist? I have read about people using playlists. In which way are they written (m3u)? Could you post an exampleentry of such a playlist?

bye,
Andreas

You create the playlist on your PC with the normal media player that you use, save it in the playlists directory, then Twonky picks it up when scanning the library.

I personally use MediaMonkey to this but WinAmp and other products are supposed to do it also.
