iTunes can't see Twonky?

Post by DaveMac » Tue Nov 06, 2007 4:30 pm

Hi all. I just installed Twonky on by Ubuntu Linux box and I'm having problems getting my iTunes (Windows XP) clients to see the Twonky. I can see the Twonky server in WMP and it shows up in Network Neighborhood as a Media server, but I can't access it through iTunes. I have the "look for shared music" option checked in iTunes and it can see shared media on other iTunes clients, but I can't get it to see the Twonky.

What am I missing? I have seen some mentions of loading FireFly (mt-dappd) - is this required for iTunes support? Do I need to have a iTunes library path (under third-party apps) setup in Twonky? Any other required options? Thanks for your help.

Twonky is a UPnP server, not a Bonjour server. iTunes uses Bonjour to server and play music remotely. I use Firefly to serve up tunes for iTunes.
