Buffalo NAS / Twonky / iTunes /PS3

Couple of questions:
I want to store my music collection on a NAS. I want to be able to manage this via iTunes and play the media on my iPod (der) and PS3.
I've read that Twonky / PS3 doesn't work with iTunes playlists - can someone confirm/deny?
I've read that when enabling UPnP/DLNA on a Buffalo LinkStation Live NAS, the disc is constantly spinning - can someone confirm/deny?
What MP4 formats do/don't work with Buffalo/Twonky/PS3?
