I have a Maxtor Shared Storage 2 NAS drive and an old rather slow (400mhz, 256mb ram) laptop running permanently in my network. I have installed Twonkyvision on the laptop and a streaming client accesses twonkyvision from this laptop. I have just seen though that there is a way to install Twonkyvison on my NAS. I am considering to buy a new generation streaming client (such as popcornhour) and mainly stream DVD's which are on my NAS off it. Is it worth the effort (i am actually not at all experienced with Linux) and is there an advantage running TV directly from the NAS. Would it improve the performance?
Thanks for any help here?
