Cannot stream video over web to PC

I am running twonky on my NAS, and I get music and pictures working fine over web access. I can also access music, pictures, and videos fine from within my network on my xbox 360. My problem is when trying to access videos from my laptop, trying on both a linux and windows machine the video player just hangs. Any ideas?
