Hmm,

Followed the link as with the 4.4.4i update, it even says 4.4.5.sit. :D
Yet when I install it on my Readynas it just says 4.4.4 on the twonky page. :(

Am i doing something wrong or is the package not correctly updated???

Thanks for any help

Hi Christian,

I've had the same experience with my ReadyNAS NV+. I upgraded from 4.4.4 to 4.4.5 using the file TwonkyMedia_4.4.5.bin which I downloaded using the link provided. The version number reported on the TwonkyMedia configuration page remains 4.4.4.

I haven't really experimented much to see if any changes are evident, but there are no obvious differences between the currently installed version and version 4.4.4.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

Thanks,

--Charlie

+1
Are there any compelling reasons to upgrade from 4.4.4?

This can now load onto my MSSII, and my Philips 32pf9731 (with built in uPNP player) can find it BUT I can't confgure as the html link pages in the twonky path do not correctly link.

Anyine managed to get to the twonky configuration pages?

Thanks,

David.

Hi Christian,

also urgently require 4.4.5 to fix the roku problem with my ReadyNAS server. But:

Downloaded 4.4.5 for ReadyNAS Clients but still revceived the old buggy 4.4.4 Software. Any chance to replace it by the actual version?

Thanks for help

I have not been able to get to the configuration page either.

http://10.3.3.3:9000/config just brings up the media browser.

Is there some configuration setting I need to change to all address to modify the configuration or is there some other issue?

Thanks,

Jeff

I guess they moved the configuration page to http://{servername}:9000configpage/\

Not really mentioned any where the only FAQ I saw was incorrect.

4.4.5 Version display possibly resolved

Hi All

I upgraded from 4.4.4 to 4.4.5 on my ReadyNAS NV+ and as per some previous posts, it did indeed report as 4.4.4 on the config pages. As part of an investigation into my disk spin down (NAS power save) not functioning correctly, I totally uninstalled both TwonkyMedia and SlimServer to eliminate them both from my enquiries (this is still under investigation; Twonky works flawlessly and thus it looks like SlimServer keeps waking the disks even though it's set not to refresh the database automatically). After totally removing then uploading a fresh installation of 4.4.5, the configuration pages now correctly report the version number as 4.4.5.

I recall seeing a couple of things mentioned as differences between 4.4.4 and 4.4.5 and as neither had any relevance to my equipment, not really paying any attention to them (I only installed 4.4.5 such that I could have the same versions as two friends' setups and thus help to provide support for them). I would assume that the 4.4.5.bin upload and upgrade method must not completely ‘overwrite’ all the 4.4.4 stuff - maybe it’s tied up with importing the previous configuration information; music tree/container paths/etc/etc but this is just a pure guess – and this is why we see it reporting to be 4.4.4 on the config pages?

Anyhow, it all works fine and playing lots of great sounding FLAC music (via a Linn Klimax system). Incidentally, I really like the way it can rebuild the entire database (over 1000 albums) in a few minutes whereas SlimServer takes many hours! On the down side, I know I’ve said this before but I really would like it to recognise Album Artist and Composer tags from within FLAC files; without doing that, should it not be considered (at best) as faulty and possibly even commercially unacceptable? Can it really be sold as supporting FLAC files when it doesn’t read some of the standard basic tags?

4.4.5 Interface

NB The web interface is terrific and here are a few cool ideas for the future:
1. A search function to find a track using part of the track name.
2. A UPnP control point option to insert tracks and albums into the UPnP device playlist from the Twonky web page
3. The option to turn album art on to show all albums one level higher than currently (i.e. if you have set it to display Artist/Album, the artwork then displays for all that artists albums as opposed to only showing them individually (once you have drilled down to the final track list).

It us hard to believe indeed that towars the end of th year 2008 twonky is still incapable of handling basic tags for the leading lossless audio codec - and still charges many dollars fro its incomplete program.
