I recently installed TwonkyVision on my Linkstation Live to replace the broken media server in vs 2.10. I'm using a PS3 as my media server. Here's the setup:

• TwonkyMedia vs: 4.4.5 (Linkstation Pro)
• Server: Buffalo Linkstation NAS (vs 2.10)
• Client: PS3 (vs 2.30)
• Problem media: Video
• Library size: <10
• Network: Wired

I'm testing the system with some H.264 encoded videos - two from Handbrake using the PS3 settings and one from MPEG StreamClip. All media production is being done on a Mac (OS 10.5.2). I'm having trouble setting up my media directory structure on the NAS with a 1 TB external USB HD attached (usbdisk2). First of all, here is what I have for my Content Locations:

/mnt/usbdisk2/Music (Music-only)
/mnt/usbdisk2/Photos (Pictures-only)
/mnt/usbdisk2/Video (Video-only)
/disk1/share/Music/iTunes Music (Music-only)
/mnt/usbdisk2/Video/Films (Video-only)
/mnt/usbdisk2/Video/Home (Video-only)

My first question concerns the content location names. When I press a "Browse" button on the TwonkyMedia Configuration: Share page to select a content location, the path for "Films" (for example) is listed as:

/usbdisk2/Video/Films

that is, without a preceding "/mnt" even though that is where the external USB disk is located (i.e., when I run "ls /mnt"). So I'm confused about how to specify the locations. If I omit the "/mnt" then directories are created (by Twonky, I presume) at the root "/" level. I feel that I should be including the "/mnt" part of the path. Having said that, it seems that my iTunes Music directory is accessed correctly even though I omitted "/mnt." What gives?

Second, does Twonky include all sub-directories below a specified location? I suspect not, but that would be nice since I would like to organize home videos by year in separate directories and it looks like I have to include each one (1990, 1991, etc.) in the Content Locations list.

I'm having trouble with PS3 seeing the video files. If I place them in "/mnt/usbdisk2/Video" the PS3 sees them and plays them w/o trouble. If I place them in the "Films" sub-directory it can't seem to find them despite a "Rebuild database" and "Restart server." Is this a PS3 issue? FWIW, Nullriver MediaLink seems to work perfectly with the PS3 on my MacBook Pro.

Twonky seems to work much better that the native Linkstation media server (which doesn't work at all anymore), but I am having some problems figuring out how to configure my media and set Twonky so that it works correctly.

Any tips or tricks on using it with a Linkstation - PS3 combo?

Thanks.
