Twonky HTTP Port / .ini File

Post by Mark M » Sat Jul 05, 2008 9:14 am

Now before anyone screams "search", I've spent some time trying to get the answers to my issue by looking around the forum etc but still haven't got there despite most of the individual issues being raised ...

Problem:

[Twonky 4.4.5 / XP sp3]

I have just bought a Logitech Squeezebox to replace my Netear MP101 (why I never did this before I have no idea  ) ... the Squeezebox performs brilliantly however the Squeezecentre server application really, really wants to run on port 9000. The settings allow this to be changed but I get streaming timeouts all the time.

Therefore, I just want to change Twonky to run on another port so that I can use it for video streaming to my PS3.
If I manually start Twonky after PC startup, it recognises that port 9000 is taken and binds to 9001 ... great ! But when I set Twonky to auto start, it grabs 9000 and stops Squeezecentre working ... not great !

I have tried adding "httpport=9010" to my twonkymedia-default.ini file in C:\Program Files\TwonkyMedia but the Twonky server appears to completely ignore this file !!! ... where does it store the config setting BTW ???!!!

So the main question is how to tell Twonky to start on a port other than 9000 ... simple really .... HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,
