Plugins and Directv HD DVR

First a little background, I scoured the interent and tested several DLNA players and Twonky came out on to simply because it was the easiest to setup and didn't skip when playing movies on a PS3. However I knew I would need transcoding at some time. well that time is now for the Directv HD DVR.

first, I see many posts refrenecing plugins, Where can I find a list of plugins with links to download, I see nothing on the twonky main page.

Second, I have seen several posts refrencing that the directv HD dvr only supports LPCM. So I found lame.exe and put it in my bin directory so I could transcode MP3's to LPCM. I also seen a reference to creating a desc files but no documentation on how to write one.

In short, is there a doc or post that gives some descent detail of how to get Twonky and the DTV HD DVR working with MP3 files.

How can there not be a dedicated forum for this???

Great product so far. terrible documentation. I'm not looking for someone to hold my hands, just looking for the documentation and links for the documentation and support file(s), lame.exe (make sure I have the right version), any plugins (where are they) steps on how to make a .desc file.

BTW: my DTV HD DVR can see the music files, but cannot play. Twonky is working great on my PS3. So this is simply an issue transcoding audio to support the DTV HD DVR.

Twonky installed a service on Server 2003.

Twonky used to have a page where you could download the plugins, but this page was removed. I do not know why it was removed. This makes Twonky worthless for music on an HR2x for version 4.x. There is a beta available for version 5.0 where you can transcode, but all questions and feedback has been ignored regarding this beta (for over 3 months) and I'm getting the impression that development has been halted for this new version.

Thanks so much for the replies. The Zip files on DBSTalk all appear to be corrupted. I cannot open any of them. do you have any other link for them? can you post them here?

BTW: how is the wrapper for ffmpeg coming along?

NM. should have used 7Zip to begin with.

I've pretty much given up with Twonky because they will never support the DirecTV receivers. There are also a couple of bugs with the video transcoding in the beta that I found and the lack of response from the Twonky developers shows me they are not interested. Right now, I'm running my HR2x Media Share server using MediaTomb and I am having no problems whatsoever.

Thanks again for the help. I guess I'll cross the video transcoding issue when I get there. Maybe I will look at mediatomb again. once I used 7zip to extract the archives from DBSTalk all I did was extract them to cgi-bin and put lame.exe as well. Everything worked perfectly. Oddly enough I came across your post on DBStalk before but never thought to use 7zip to extract and simply thought the zip files were corrupt.

to assist anyone who comes accross thepost I have re-zipped the archive. hopefully this should allow users to use Winzip.
