Current Network:
1x WHS, running Twonky 5.0.40
3x Vista SP1 (Ultimate and Home Premium) running WM11
1x XP SP3 running WM11
1x Roku SoundBridge
Every time I start WM11 (either on vista or XP) and the player detects the Twonky Server, WM11 crashes immediately:
--- snip ---
Fehlerhafte Anwendung wmplayer.exe, Version 11.0.6001.7000, Zeitstempel 0x47919356, fehlerhaftes Modul wmp.dll, Version 11.0.6001.7000, Zeitstempel 0x4791a80c, Ausnahmecode 0xc0000005, Fehleroffset 0x003e8e98, Prozess-ID 0x7c0, Anwendungsstartzeit 01c96a82d2c0eb01.
--- snap ---
Furthermore the SoundBridge finds and connects to Twonky, but I can only navigate the artists/albums. When I try to actually play an album there are "no tracks found".
I have already tried to share my music from a non-WHS-share (i.e. a standard-share on the server) but without any success.
Oh and by the way: I upgraded to 5.x because I hoped that the album artists/interpret issue in WM11 might have been fixed. Unfortunately I am not able to check it, because the whole Twonky is broken now...
Well, do PV really want me to switch back to FireFly? It seems so...
5.0.40 Crashes Client's MediaPlayer and other issues
Re: 5.0.40 Crashes Client's MediaPlayer and other issues
Aha. Not just me then.
WMP on Vista crashes as soon as twonky is seen.
Kiss 1600 Player can see the server but cannot find any files.
Have reverted to 4.4.9

Re: 5.0.40 Crashes Client's MediaPlayer and other issues
I have the exact same thing. When I used 4.4.9, WMP11 64bit would crash but not the 32-bit. Now, either crashes when I have updated to v5.
TwonkyMedia version: v5.0.40
Operating System: UPnP Server is running Windows Server 2008 64-bit
If you are running as a system service (Windows only): Yes
Client(s) and their software version: WMP11 32-bit Windows Vista Ultimate SP1
Type(s) of media you are having problems with: MP3-based library
How many files you have in your database: ~1600
Network type (Wired/Wireless): Wired (1Gb)

Re: 5.0.40 Crashes Client's MediaPlayer and other issues
Some of this problems sound familiar to me:
I run Twonky 4.4.2 on a Debian-Based server and when I sitched on my new Kiss1600 in basic settings it was able to see the Twonky -Server- but not the content.
After setting all IP-Adresses etc in the right way the server is not found at all.
The I tried to update my Twonky to Version 4.4.9 - but this fails for reasons I do not understand yet - I will start a separare thread on this update issue.
But about the Kiss1600 I would like to know, who was successfull in the "Kiss2Twonky-Collaboration.
btw: Doese anybody know a way to identify from the server whether the Kiss-Client is switched on or off? Its answering on a Ping in ether mode,
Best wishes for 2009

Re: 5.0.40 Crashes Client's MediaPlayer and other issues
Finally got round to trying again and have installed v 5.1.2. All seems to be OK. No WMP11 crashes and seems fine on the TV too. Not yet tested on all players.ugo1 wrote:Hi
