Whatever happened to the custom navigation tree in version 5
Posted: Mon Feb 02, 2009 5:41 pm
I just downloaded version 5 of the server, and I see that the navigation tree customization options have completely disappeared from the configuration page - along with a host of other advanced options (such as the admin port which is now set to 9000, and not 9100 as is written in the readme), which have now apparently moved to the ini file.
This is a real problem for me, because the default "Artist/Song" and "Genre/Song" style tree nodes are totally useless in the way my music is organized - I had ended up with a nice little setup in V4, which after some searching around I now found at the bottom of the "twonkyvision-musicserver.ini" file. Here they are:
# music nodes
# web: text|50
# cat: treebuilder
musicnode1=Album,%ALBUM
musicnode2=Genre/Album,%GENRE,%ALBUM
musicnode3=Artist/Album,%ARTIST,%ALBUM
musicnode4=Genre,%GENRE
musicnode5=Artist,%ARTIST,
musicnode6=Genre/Artist,%GENRE,%ARTIST,%ALBUM
musicnode7=Genre Index,[3]%GENRE,[3]%ARTIST
musicnode8=Year/Artist,%YEAR,%ARTIST,%ALBUM
musicnode9=Artist Index,[3]%ARTIST,%ALBUM
musicnode10=
The problem is, that I can't find any way for the server to take these into account, as the only choices offered through the web config page are between basic, advanced, and itunes-like trees...
Does any one know how I could activate the custom navigation tree in V5, if it's at all possible ? I would be perfectly happy editing an ini file, if that's what it takes - after all, that's not everyday housekeeping maintenance! If it's a dropped feature, I'll definitely consider going back to V4...
Thanks for your help
