I am getting this popup frequently ("TwonkyMediaServer.exe stopped working and was closed"), even on a fresh reboot. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit) SP1 and a trial version of TwonkyMedia (which I installed today). The setup file was TwonkyMediaManagerSetup1.0.0.115.

TwonkyMedia version: 5.0.45
Server hardware: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core processor 6000+ (3.10 Ghz)
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit) SP1
If you are running as a system service (Windows only): Yes
Client(s) and their software version: TwonkyMediaManager locally, Zune 3.1.620.0 over network
Type(s) of media you are having problems with: All (TwonkyMediaServer only runs for a minute and then gives the above popup)
How many files you have in your database: 882 music tracks
Network type (Wired/Wireless): Wired, using a Netgear FVS318 Firewall as a router and a US Robotics Wireless MaxG as an access point. TwonkyMediaServer is wired into the access point, which is wired into the router.

I have tried a reinstall, but the server is still staying up for a minute or so.

If I start Twonky Media Manager from a fresh boot, it will display the splash screen and then will do one of two things:

• Display an empty database list and then a "ControlPoint Application has stopped working", or
• Display a populated media list and then "TwonkeyMediaServer.exe has stopped working.

BTW, I am running these from an administrator account. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, to no avail.

Hi, all, this has gone for two weeks with not a peep. (A lot of views, though.) Does this mean that you have seen the problem before but don't have an answer?

BTW, I also tried this with Win XP SP2 compatibility mode, for both TwonkyMediaServer and for the twonkymediaserverconfig application. The server continued to close itself down after a few minutes.

I'm halfway through my 30-day trial and Twonky has never worked. I hope this behavior is not typical!

I am having the exact same error. It's a shame, I was looking forward to buy this awesome product.

Type(s) of media you are having problems with: All (TwonkyMediaServer only runs for a minute and then gives the above popup)

Network type: Wireless, using a 2Wire DSL Wireless Modem.
