iTunes Playlists not showing up

Hi there,

I've purchased the Phillips NP2900 Network Music Player (which itself is working perfectly). It came with TwonkyMedia Server version 5.0.15, which I installed on my file server (Dell Precision 340, Windows XP Pro SP3).

I have a Mac (wish I didn't, but using the iPhone with Windows is a pain) where I have an iTunes library. The music and the iTunes library folder are on my network server (E:\My Music & E:\My Music\iTunes Libraries\Ed's iTunes Library\). The mac doesn't have any trouble with this as long as I wait for the network drive to mount before I launch iTunes.

Twonky Media Server has built it's database, looking for it's music in the E:\My Music folder and has grabbed all 7000 songs. However, none of the iTunes playlists have been picked up.

According to the FAQ on this website, as long as your iTunes library is in one of the paths you configure TwonkyMedia to look in, they should automatically populate. None have. I even added to the TwonkyMedia config the drilled down folder (thinking it's a recursive problem) that my iTunes library is in. Nothing. Did a restart of the server. Nothing. Did a rebuild of the database, still nothing.

Somewhere in the forums I read that iTunes support was given up on, but so many other posts seem to contradict that. There's a lot of activity on this forum for version 4.x, but I can't seem to find anything helpful for iTunes playlists not appearing in version 5.0.15.

I tried installing the most recent version of TwonkyMedia, by the way - the NP2900 freaked out and doesn't even see the Playlist folder (which of course is only populated with the built in TwonkyMedia Playlists). That's a step backwards.

Now, I've read in the forums that there is this itunes plugin that is supposed to fire, and I've even navigated to the exe in explorer and verified that it was there. Is it possible this is not firing off when it performs a scan?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
Ed
