MediaSmart EX487 (with Twonky v5)

Post by jdawson » Sat Apr 25, 2009 9:45 pm

I have a MediaSmart EX487 (with Twonky v5).

I Twonky server is locking up and dieing during the index processing.

I have two questions....

#1 is the license I have under that purchase valid to allow me to download and install a full version of TwonkyMedia Server from this site and use that without buying it again?

#2. Is there a log file created during the indexing that i could view to see the point where it fails? And where would I find that?

I found and turned on logging but I am sad to say that didn't prove to be very useful.

My logs show the server running without errors or issues right up to the point where it crashes. Then when I re-start it it shows nothing that indicates why it crashed...

My twonkymedia service just stops running after a few hours for no obvious reason.

I am having the exact same issue. Twonky keeps falling over on my EX485. I've tried resetting to defaults and rebuilding database but nothing seems to work. Anyone??

Twonky 5 has a big database issue that can kil NAS's completely. Its a well known issue that Twonky is apprently working on. Not sure how long a solution might take.

For the time being you are better of sticking to version 4

Thanks. HP pre-installed Twonky v.5 on my HomeServer. How would I get version 4 without paying again?
