Hi There

I would very much like to configure my video tree.
I have the music tree configured, and it's working excellently.

What I would like to accomplish is that the first level is a single letter, and under that there are just folders.

I tried setting it up to just show the first letter on the first level, and then folder beneath that.
But then it repeated the first letter after that, and finally at a sub sub sub level I could enter the folder, and see what files were below it, so I did something wrong.

Can anybody give me a hand with this?

I don't know if it is possible as a 'folder' type of view shows the actual folder structure on the drive and I don’t know if you can create ‘virtual folder’ top level containers to alphabetically sort out the contents of your existing folders. Someone from PV would need to confirm that as I don't know the full capabilities of the database and thus the full capability of TMS5.

When you did drill down to the end of the nested containers, did the final one actually contain what you were aiming to achieve, or did it just contain everything? If it almost worked, maybe you just need to close a line of code </> or container (</container>) somewhere. Maybe you could post your line of code up here so someone (maybe myself but possibly even someone who’s more familiar with the full TMS capabilities) can better see what you’re trying to do, and thus maybe even come up with an answer?

If I'm understanding you correctly (let me know if I've totally misunderstood your question), by far the easiest thing to do would be to create 26 folders (named from A to Z) and then file your items within them. I have a similar structure for my music by having a folder called ABC, a folder called DEF, a folder called GHI etc. When you look at the folder view, the GUI display shows the actual list of folders as below:

ABC
DEF
GHI
JKL
MNO
PQR
STU
VWXYZ

This looks similar to setting the alpha-grouping to 3 (well, apart from the last one) so, in your case, by creating 26 folders, you could achieve the same appearance as an alpha-grouping of 1.
