iTouch - Twonky Configuration

Post by Martin_E » Sat May 23, 2009 11:10 am

Hi, I have Twonkymedia Pre installed on my NAS HD, but I can't remember what I need to type into the web browser window to access Twonky. I think it was http://192.168.i.3:9000 but that not working. For some reason my iTouch isn't making the connection with Twonky, It should be in "Media Server" its making a connection to the DS which is also plugged into the Wireless Router. Can someone help me please.
Cheers,
Martin

There is a better way. There are some upnp apps for the iphone / ipod touch. I use plugplayer. It works very well.

Hi Martin_E,
to connect twonky via web browser you need the correct ip adress of your nas and the port on wich twonky is listening. Default port is 9000 but might be differend on your nas. The default url should be http://your ip:9000. What nas device do you have?

Hi dparish, Thanks for your reply but the question was; how to connect my Laptop to the config page of Twonky, I already have PlugPlayer on my iTouch which works ok, I've heard Songbook is better but it costs £50.
Cheers,
Martin

Hi RG, Thanks for your advice above, last night when I was setting up the system last night and did actually get into the Twonky Config but I forgot what I typed into the web browser, but your advice about the NAS IP Address plus :9000 to be honest I think my port is 8080
The NAS I have is a QNAP TS-119 Turbo NAS which is the storage for my LINN DS player. Both these devices are plugged into a Netgear wireless router.
Cheers,
Martin

Hi Martin,
your QNAP NAS uses port 8080 for its own configuration frontend. Twonky server is listening on default port 9000. You can find more info regarding access to twonky configuration on that web page: http://www.qnap.com/de/pro_features_UPnP.asp (at the middle of the page it shows how to get from QNAP config page (on 8080) to twonky config page).
