Hi,
I have tried editing the default.view.xml file but without luck.
I dont have a massive video collection, or in fact photos or music so I want a very simple tree view for Twonky server version 5.0.2 (HP Media Smart server edition).
Please could somebody help me make a default.view.xml file that just shows the FOLDER option when I select music, photos or vidoes. That`s all I want.
Thanks.

Re: Help making Very basic simple default.view.xml
Hi Adrian
Option 1
The new beta contains separate views of which one is a folder view. This has a Music, Picture and Video menu, and under each of these top level menu items, there are two choices; All items and Folders. This tree can probably be added to any version of TMS 5 (I've not tried it in 5.0.XX) and should appear as an additional item in Twonky web page configuration list (called 'By Folder'). It is called folder.view.xml and is attached below
Option 2 (TMS 5.1)
In case you just want a really basic version which doesn't have the 'All' bits (which could be a pain, as selecting them will list everything) I have quickly compiled one and named it as default.view.xml. In TMS 5.1, this will sit with the other views (none of which are already called default.view.xml) and appear in the list as an additional option called 'Folder_Only_View'.
Option 3 (TMS 5.0)
Alternatively, with TMS 5.0.X, you can use this to replace the supplied default.view.xml file and you will then only have three containers in your top level menu: 'Music Folders', 'Picture Folders' and 'Video Folders'. By replacing the original, you will hopefully find that TMS 5.0 creates a much smaller database and thus that the database rebuild time is much shorter.
I've not tested it in isolation on 5.0.XX yet (up to my eyes in other things) but it I have briefly checked that it works as an additional view in 5.1, so it should be okay in 5.0 as well. Save your existing default.view.xml file just in case it doesn't work though!
NB It won't show total track quantities in 5.0.XX server statistics but it should still work. Complain (send me a PM to notify me that I have to do something) if it doesn't work and I'll look into it and fix it for you. Please ask if you have any questions about installing it etc.
Let me know how you get on with it.
Bri
NB If you use 5.0 and want to keep the original views as well, just rename the default.view.xml to adrian.view.xml and change the first line in the xml file (using Windows notepad) from:
<view name='Folder_Only_View' path='default.view' >
to:
<view name='Folder_Only_View' path='adrian.view' >
