I am using Twonky Media Server Ver 4.4.5 on Conceptronic Media Giant.
On the server hard drive is a mp3-file with a genre-tag "Smooth".
Playing the same mp3-file with the twonky the tag became to "Alternative".
I tested it with different files, restarting the server, rebuild the media-lib, etc.
The behaviour is the same.
Is there somewhere in the twonky media server a mechanism that modify the genre-tags (or other) while playing it?
Turning back to the file on the server hard drive the genre tag is still "Smooth". Only while playing/streaming it with Twonky it became to "Alternative".
The file has only a ID3 v2.4 tag. I killed all other ID3 tag-versions in the file but it changed nothing on the behavior. I tested the tags with TheGodFather, Foobar2000 and mp3tag.
Twonky modify tags (genre) automaticly?

Hi
I think some media players have the ability to alter the tag (I'd avoid them). Thankfully, Twonky does not touch the tags.
