Twonky 5.0.61 does not auto-scan new content any more.

Post by Cheule » Sun Oct 04, 2009 12:32 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm using Twonky Server 5.0.61 on Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04. At first everything seemed to go fine until one night I shut down the machine and got an error thrown up about twonky's permission being denied. I had to force a shutdown in the end. Since then, Twonky no longer automatically updates it's database when a new file is added.

I have (and always have had) the watch directories setting at -1, but now if I add a new file I have to rescan manually before it will show up.

Anyone know what the problem might be?

I would try setting the value to something different (say 10) and seeing if it rescans after 10 minutes, then set it back to -1 and see what happens. Perhaps it's lost your setting somehow.

You could try see what value it thinks it's using using rpc:

Code: Select all

http:\\<your-ip>:9000/rpc/get_option?scantime
PB
Samsung LE37B650T2WXXU; Liteon 5055GDL+ HDD/DVD Recorder; Playstation 3; Iomega Screenplay HD 500GB; Buffalo Linkstation Pro LS-320GL (running Twonky 6.0.30, SqueezeBox Server 7.6 and acting as a Print Server)

At the moment it's reporting 15, as I have changed it the other day. However, I've downloaded a few new videos and still they are not showing up, either on the PS3 or via the MediaBrowser. Only a manual scan seems to jog it into action.

Streaming etc is otherwise faultless.
