Hi,
I just upgraded from 4.4.9 to 5.0.68 on linux and noticed that quite a number of video files don't seem to be recognized anymore. To me it doesn't seem to be a directory issue as other video files within the same directory are added to the twonky database without problem. Did Twonky change it's mechanism of detecting valid files between version 4.4.9 and 5.0.68?
Regards,
Andreas
Media Server not finding some files
Re: Media Server not finding some files
I second this, I'm using a WD My Book WhiteLight II - TwonkyServer 5.1, files were showing before I did a firmware upgrade, now they aren't visible, when I rename to mpg/mpeg from avi it makes no difference - the videos in question came from youtube as mp4.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: Media Server not finding some files
You have to rebuild the directory from the twonky menu
rebuild directory
also reset device in menu
and restart the server
if you want you can try also:
open a ssh connection with putty software, enter in WD unix promp as root pwd welc0me type this:
/twonky/twonkymedia.sh stop (this force to stop tms)
/twonky/twonkymedia.sh start (this force to start tms)
sante

Re: Media Server not finding some files
Hi all,
I upgraded my WD MyBookWorld to firmware 01.01.14 which upgrades Twonky Media Server to version 5.1 and I experience the same issue with some .avi files. Rescanning the folders, rebuilding the DB and resetting the configuration has not resolved this issue. Has anyone been able to resolve this?
Thanks

if you have a specific file that is not working for you with TwonkyMedia server, we need your help to fix that. Specifically container formats, like AVI files, have tons of possible combinations. If you can provide the failing file to us we can and will address the problem. So, please contact either support or send me a PM in the forum.
Thank you,
René
Re: Media Server not finding some files
Did you resolve this problem? I appear to have the same issue. The trial version worked fine for scanning, but then I purchased and installed 5.1.2, it now doesn't find all the files (or does but bombs out due to errors).
