no Fast Forward on Panasonic TX-L37V10B

Hi,
I am having trouble playing MPEG2-PS files (SD/12mbps/VBR/720x576) on a Panasonic TX-L37V10B Viera TV (100base duplex).
It is connected to a wired gigabit network, on which some PC media players are able to fast-forward at up to 150mbps.
Problem is - I cannot use fast-forward on the TV - movies will mostly quit after a few seconds and return to the media-server menu.
Transmit speeds are between 10/20mbps depending on the playback speed the TV is demanding. It can peak at about 40mbps but only for short periods.
Clearly something isn't pulling it's weight here.
Is there a setting I've missed.?
Any ideas.?
Thanks,

TwonkyMedia Server Ver5.0.68
Cache memory: 87 KB
XP Home as a system service
Panasonic TX-L37V10B - Ver 2.212 pal09PEAKSAVC
FWIW
I have tested the network by simultaneously playing the same file on the TV and two PC's (on fast-forward) while copying a 1Gb file from another PC to the same directory as the playing MPEG file.
Transmit 100 Receive 50 = no problems until I ask TV to fast-forward.
I thought maybe I could test the fast forward feature another way, but oddly, the TV could not see the same files on SD card.!
-go figure-
After writing this up, I now have...
TwonkyMedia Server Ver5.1
Cache memory: 426 KB
same problem
