It's a REALLY bad idea to share media on network drives, as you are doubling the network traffic. Media is being read in across the network and then streamed out again.
You really need to look at getting Twonky installed on the device that's hosting the media (or setting up multiple servers, a licence is good for 3)

You are right. But i have make the same with linux and it hast been worked fine. The test with linux was only a test and i can not switch to this BS. fact is i have network shares now and can not install twonky on the different machine i have my media files. i there no way to do this with windows.

Yes, it can be done. First you'll need to check what account is running twonky and make sure that this account has access rights on the other machine.

thanks for your answer. twonky runs under the system account. i have also try administrator and my own with admin rights. the other machine share have full rights to everyone. the problem is that i can not give the w7 pc rights to the other pc. thats only possible in a domain. this machines stays only in a workgroup.
what i not understand. When i browse the drives in twonky i can not see the drive letters for my network shares.
