Artist / Album sorting by first letter case sensitive

My music (currently some 17215 tracks from 2011 artists in 1316 albums) are labelled sometime in lower case.
As the database in Twonky (& it seems all the uPnP servers I've tried) is case sensitive, all the artists / albums with a lowercase initial letter are not listed in the A-Z index. Is there any setting I can change to ignore the CAPITALIZATION?
Firefly (MT-DAAPD) with the same directory of files is happy to place boards of canada between Blur & Bob Dylan, but with Twonky boards of canada (and any other artist I've got with a lowercase initial letter) just disappear.
I really don't want to have to go through everything and change the files themselves.
Searching here & the internet in general has turned up no results, although that could be because it's difficult to know what search term to use. Hopefully someone has a simple solution for me.
