Looks like it's in /srv/Bilder when you look at contentbase and contentdir.

It's also worth upgrading to 5.1.1 (out today), as it has some fixes for incorrectly blacklisted directories...

This did not not solve the problem

/srv is a XFS filesystems with acls.

I'm having the same problem having upgraded from 4.4.18 to 5.1.1 on my Asus WL-HDD 2.5.

I have three share folders under:
/opt/share/photos
/opt/share/music
/opt/share/video

/opt is the mounted partition of the harddrive in the WLHDD. Uninstalling 5.1.1 and reinstalling 4.4.18 is no problem. All media is found. Installing the 5.1.1 again simply doesn't find any media. Even placing and renaming the working settings file from 4.4.18 as the default settings for 5.1.1, and reseting the 5.1.1 to defaults populates the sharing folders correctly but rescanning media, restarting server and rebuilding database will not scan the files. When I click Rebuild database, I can see the right share folders being added on the status page, but still no sucess.

Contentbase is set to /opt

install.nas file is set up correctly with /opt/twonkymedia as the install folder and there are no issues with the install.

One thing I noticed was that the 5.1.1 release does not have a twonkymedia.db folder. When the 4.4.18 settings file is used with 5.1.1, this folder is created as well as the cache folder within. Might not mean anything, but I found it strange.

I also noted that the registration code resets after a reboot of the NAS server. Is it possible that the program is trying to store information somewhere else other than /opt. I see alot of references to /var/ in the log file, but I assume that var refers to opt.

Hope this info helps. If you need anything else, let me know.

SOLVED (in my case anyway)

The default configuration puts settings and the database on /var/twonkymedia. This is a temporary folder on the internal flash that is limited in space and that gets deleted upon reboot.
I solved this by creating a symbolic link to a folder(/opt/var-twonky) on the harddrive, which I named /var/twonkymedia. I've set this link to be created in the post-boot script.
Also, my media is located in /opt/share. Setting the content base as /opt or /opt/share results in all media folders being black-listed. This means that no media is scanned. Again, a symbolic link to this folder created at boot, and entered as the contentbase parameter will solve this issue.

All files are now scanned correctly, and my registration is not reset after boot!

@Joerg
I believe /srv is also a blacklisted directory. this may be your problem. Try symbolically linking a folder in var to your media and use this as the contentbase.
