Interference from Windows 7?

Post by papaschtroumpf » Thu Dec 03, 2009 1:37 am

I was using twonky 4.4 on a Mandrake Linux server with a D-Link DSM-520 for years and everything was fine.

I updated one of my windows computers to Windows 7, and my DSM-520 started acting up, randomly stuttering/freezing.

I thought my DSM-520 was dead, so I bought a WD HD Live to replace it. Since Twonky 5.0 supported it, I bought the 5.0 version of Twonky server.

... I experience similar problems to what I was experiencing on the DSM-520

I upgrade my wireless network to 802.11n (can't do wired)

... I experience similar problems to what I was experiencing on the DSM-520

Things work fine most of the time, but not always. It seems that the probelm never happens when the windows machien is not turned on, but it could be conicidental, still, it's interesting I never had any problems until I switched to Windows 7

I win 7 somehow interfering with the proper operation of twonky or its network? (trying to "take over" or scan the devices and interfere with them or....)
