I see from the FAQ that TwonkuMedia Server is not officially supported on Windows 2008, but does it work in an unofficial capacity? As a part time student, I can get access to 2008 R2 for a very small fee and would rather use that then WHS (which costs almost $100).

I went with 2008, and Twonky installs with no obvious issues.
