Help a TM novice out please!

The view configuration manual lists database properties that are supported in the XML files. First of all, what do the prefixes mean? pv is Packet Video, upnp is, well, upnp, dc is I don't know. But what's the difference between them all? I wanted to sort by year and the year attribute tag is not mentioned in the list however I've seen someone else's XML file that uses pv:year.

And if the XML files only support those tags, does that mean that we can't use our own ID3 tags in custom views? For example, I might want to build on the Publisher tag. Are the ones with the upnp prefix the only ID3 tags supported?

Lastly, there is a property listed called pv:compilation. How can we use this to define compilation albums? Is it an ID3 tag? What effect does setting it to 1 have?

Hi

DC stands for Dublin Core and is a set of standards relating to metadata: http://dublincore.org/

As to the xml file, I have several that work well with 5.0.68 (the latest one seems to work really well in fact) but I have no idea how to add custom views to 5.1.1. To be honest, I've tried changing everything except my underpants and just can't get it to fly. If you simply delete all the existing files and try a substitute xml file, it does work really well, the trouble is that when you then try to change anything in the Twonky web interface, it just crashes Twonky 5.1.1. I believe that PV are compiling a document on the subject; looking forward to reading it with great interest!
