The new TMS version never finshes the scan job.
If it has finished scanning one share, it seems to reset the results and start over with 0, it does this again and again
... like an infinity loop
What is this???????????????
Edit:
I just modifyed the twonky settings: I removed the "activ" checkmark in front of the share which twonky scan like the descrivbed "infinity loop". Then i save the settings. AND NOW twonky can't be started anymore!! It turns to a zombie process immediately after the start.
I am using TMS on Ubuntu 9.10.

More likely a corrupted media file somewhere.josch.hh wrote:Restart does not help!!!!!

Re: TMS 5.1.1
Mmmm, TMS 5.0.68 and Mediatomb have no trouble with scanning the files...
No sure what is more likely in this case...

Re: TMS 5.1.1
My statement means that due to the facts it is extremely unlikely that the files are corrupt

Re: TMS 5.1.1
I have this exact situation too. 5.1 worked, but 5.1.1 does not.
I don't think 5.1.1 should just hang if it finds a corrupted file, but move to the next and report the corrupted file. Maybe an enhancement here?

Re: TMS 5.1.1
Nice to see that i am not the only one with this problem.
BTW Rescan on 5.0.68 has the problem with do nothing after about 1-2 days running on my Ubuntu 9.10
I already told this in another thread - and the solution was to use 5.1.1 -> LOL - I would really like use it, if it wont have the bug with the infinity loop scaning.
Nice to see what i get for my money.

Re: TMS 5.1.1
I got 5.1.1 working:
After plenty of searching and restarts I removed everything in /var/twonkymedia. I rm'd the whole directory. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10.
Updating just the program was not good enough. I did remove the program and the folders but 5.1.1 still used the old db and settings, which crashed the scan every time. It might have been that the old files in /var/ were incomplete. Or something. When I still had the old files, the network interface was also not working properly, clicking on Save Changes crashed every browser that I used and the settings weren't saved.
Anyway, 5.1.1 is running great now. Whew.

Re: TMS 5.1.1
I had no luck with 5.1.1, but 5.1.2 seems to work very well. Even the inotify scan is working now.
Thanks guys.
... but still the bug with the zombie process
