Internet Radio Playlists blank?

Post by jdr999 » Sat Dec 19, 2009 10:31 am

Hi gang,

Has anyone been able to get an internet radio playlist (*.m3u) to work with 5.1.2? I'm trying to add a few Shoutcast stations and can't get it working. I can see the playlist but it is blank inside (0). Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Code: Select all

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,LASER 80 The Best Of 80s Hits
http://91.121.1.154:9066

Code: Select all

03:44:21:121 LOG_SCAN: adding file /Users/jdr/Music/iTunes/laser80.m3u
03:44:21:121 LOG_SCAN: upnp_locate_playlist_file(): In
03:44:21:121 upnp_locate_playlist_file playlistfile=[/Users/jdr/Music/iTunes/laser80.m3u] file=[http://91.121.1.154:9066]
03:44:21:121 LOG_SCAN: upnp_locate_playlist_file(): Out
03:44:21:121 LOG_SCAN: processed /Users/jdr/Music/iTunes/laser80.m3u
Thanks,
Joe

Re: Internet Radio Playlists / Adding Internet Stations?

Post by jdr999 » Mon Dec 21, 2009 10:06 pm

Am I the only one here who is trying to add Shoutcast stations?

I think I've read somewhere that Twonky only supports the first 25 stations in each genre. I'm really looking for a way to add only the highest quality stations to my Twonkyserver. I'd be more than happy to have access to all of them but I don't think it works that way.

Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this?

Thanks,
Joe

Hi,
you are not the only one who is trying to get those playlists, wich contain urls to internet radio stations, running. Have tried m3u and pls. The result is always the same, playlist is blank. Looks like it's not supported.

Same issue here too. I have used Twonky 4.1 on my HP Mediavault for a long time and can add and listen to favorite Internet radio stations as playlists. Now I am trying to move to Windows Home Server. I added Twonky 5 and it indexed all my music, but no radio. What gives?? Seems to be a recurring problem over the years for the Twonky boys.

You're not alone guys! Wasted 2 days trying every sort of clever idea and it is very clearly a bug in the 5.1.2 version. I really hope this gets resoved asap by PacketVideo! pw

I guess I'm not alone then.

Is the company usually this quiet on the forums? It would be nice if they would chime in on this.

What's the best way to make sure they are aware of the bug?

I don't see why it couldn't be handled by a quick patch instead of waiting for an entire new version to come creeping in.

Fully agree! However, cannot answer your questions. Hope they might read this and will work on it. pw

One of the reasons I upgraded to version 5.x is because of the Media Feeds and now it doesn't work. Hopefully it will be fixed soon because I had to revert to 4.4.18 to get Shoutcast working again.
