Transcoding Documentation?

Post by coolspot » Wed Jan 06, 2010 1:22 am

Hi all,

Where is the documentation on configuring transcoding located?

I like to transcode:

RMVB -> MPEG
MKV -> MPEG

I'm running the WHS version of Twonky.

Thanks.

agreed! what the heck is there to hide? unanswered posts for months asking for this with no response?
This product is NOT for the novice user beyond its out of the box functionality.

WHERE is the documentation on the transcoding, desc files, .db files, etc etc.

I bought the Server alone for my WHS, and mediamanager for my testing machine.
Ive spent days googling for info on the structure of these files with sparse examples and no explanation.

PLEASE???!?

Hello,

I activated transcoding according to this instructions:

Install FFMPEG build from here:
http://ffmpeg.arrozcru.org/autobuilds/f ... -static.7z

Now go to C:\Program Files\TwonkyMedia\cgi-bin Open ffmpeg.location and specify the path of ffmpeg exe.
save the changes.

Restart the twonkymedia server.

I followed this instructions and set transcoding to mpeg2, but my TV says "Media not supported" if opening an unsupported video. I thought that transcoding meas to change the format in real-time so that it fits to the client.

Has anybody an idea, why this does´t work?

Thanks.
