hi there
I bought a cute lacie LaCinema Black play that came with your software. Since I upgraded to 10.6 on my Macs, the Twonky software won't work. I tried the official versions aswell as the betas, same result. Somehow, the server seems to share my /movies folder which I like, but I can't open the config page. As soon as I click that button, Safari crashes. Reproducable with Firefox, too. Oh, I forgot. The Media Browser opens only with the betas. The versions before, the software won't even start up and show me anything.
I contacted Lacie for that matter, since I bought that package from them. But they closed my support ticket without answer as promised.
Aswell, I think there's somekind of refreshing of the media Browser going on, since I can open the "Folder" on my Lacie and scroll through the first few movies on my mac, but I won't get any further than that. Instead I'm getting kicked back to the page where I see the "local files" and the twonky shares. This isn't really acceptable for a device that costed almost 600 bucks. Aswell as the fact that I don't get apropriate support in my german mothertongue. twonkymedia.de is all english..

Re: twonky media Server 4+5 & mac 10.6.2 = no go
I am also having problems with Twonkymedia server, acquired w/ Lacinema Black Play, on MAC OSX 10.6.2.
The CD shipped with the device only contained the software for windows, so I downloaded Twonkymedia Server 5.1 from the website, installed it, and entered the registration key provided on the CD for windows. The Lacinema device seems to detect the existence of the server, by showing its name in the list of media servers, but no shared folders or files are listed/detected by the device. The default shared folder paths for videos, photos and music in the setup/config page seem correct. When I try to save any changes on the config page, the browser becomes unresponsive. When I start the web server from the application folder, I get the following message on the console:
-------------------------------------------
/Applications/TwonkyMediaServer.app/MediaServer/twonkymediaserver ; exit;
TwonkyMedia Version 5.1.2
using logfile /Users/o/Library/Application Support/TwonkyMediaServer/TwonkyMediaServer-log.txt
upnp_malloc: MemCriticalSection not initialized
calling /Applications/TwonkyMediaServer.app/MediaServer/plugins/iTunes-import -init
found
For image conversion and scaling the TMS utilizes ImageMagick. For details on the license please see /Applications/TwonkyMediaServer.app/MediaServer/cgi-bin/convert-readme.txt
--------------------------------
Does somebody have any idea what the problem might be?
Thanks in advance!

Re: twonky media Server 4+5 & mac 10.6.2 = no go
I also had big trouble with version 5.1.2 of the media server. If the server runs it takes 120% CPU usage on OS X 10.6 just for being started and i used to reinstall these version. After reinstall i could not start the server and i get a lot of anger.
After i wanted to give up i found the version 5.0.68 on the following URL:
http://mac.downloadatoz.com/twonkymedia-server/download.html
These version works great on OS X 10.6.2! It takes ~0.1% CPU usage, i don´t have any problems to start it and my Samsung TV is happy again. These version should be available here too cause it seems that this is the only version which working fine for us.
Best Regards
