TonkyMedia Server - 2 questions

Hi

I have a trial of Media Server installed on a HP Mediasmart EX475 running Windows Home Server

I am running TMS rather than TMS for Windows Home Server because the latter only seems to publish the standard Home Server Shares (e.g. Videos, Photos, Music). Most of my Videos & DVDs are on shares which are NOT part of the Pooled Drives in WHS. I cannot seem to add these shares using TMS for WHS. When I installed "standard" TMS I could add them without trouble.
So Question 1) - Is the above behaviour correct for TMS Vvs TMS for WHS?

I want to take advantage of the current half-price promo that Twonky is running and am a bit confused about the licensing on Twonky Media Manager.

So Question 2) - If I purchase Twonky Media Manager, can I install the Media Server component on my WHS box and then run the Media Manager on my Workstation?
- OR - do I need to purchase a separate license for the TMS running on my WHS box?

Any help gratefully received :)

A TMM license can be used on:
1. TMM
2. TMS for PC/Mac/Linux/NAS
3. TMS for WHS

The same key will work on up to 3 Mac addresses, so you should be able to do what you describe above. A laptop running wireless sometimes count's as 2 Mac addresses, so please keep that in mind.

If you're already running the PC version of TMS on your NAS without problems, I would stick with it and not change to the WHS version.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the clarification.

This is what I will do - especially since you guys are currently running a 50% off promo :o

I had reached the same conclusion about TMS Vvs TMS for WHS and will be sticking with the former.
