Hello All,
I've tried to upgrade to TMS 5.1.2, the server starts up but can not find any of the files on my Gentoo server. 5.0.65 previously worked fine and reverting to that build gives me no problems. The main reason for moving up to 5.1.2 is for the
transcoding.
The message on the server status page has sat like this for the past hour or so:
Last database change : In Progress [-/home/Tam905/.TwonkyMediaServer/twonkymedia-server-uploaded-music]...
My setup looks like this:
TwonkyMedia version - 5.1.2
Server Hardware - 500 GB SATA RAID 5
Operating System - Gentoo Linux
Type(s) of media you are having problems with - ALL (video, music, photos)
How many files you have in your database - approx. 1500
Network type (Wired/Wireless) - Wired through Linksys WRT54GL
I have searched through the forums to try to find a solution, rebuilding / restart the server has not gotten me anywhere closer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
- Tam -

You don't way what your server platform is. (500GB what?). If it's a NAS, have you reloacted your database using the -appdata switch?

Re: TMS 5.1.2 - Gentoo - Last Database Change issue
Hi,
My server is acting like a NAS (kindof) but it's running Gentoo Linux. I use it as a file server / back up, I have Samba and NFS running to connect it to the other computers on my network. I'm not too sure what you mean by platform? .
Cheers,

PC? Embedded device? Does it run the OS in flash?

Re: TMS 5.1.2 - Gentoo - Last Database Change issue
Hi Thanks for the quick replies, I do appreciate the help.
I'm running it on a PC. no embedded devices and it does not run on a flash drive. runs on a seagate drive array.
I'm also now getting this listing which I do a ps -A in a terminal window:
11532 ? 00:00:00 twonkymedia
12139 ? 00:00:02 twonkymediaserv <defunct>
it seems like the twonkeymediaserver is restarting because sometimes I can get to the web administration page if I refresh the page constantly. I am now having issues reverting back to 5.0.65 as it's doing the same thing.
i'm not sure exactly how or why this is happening. I also tried to do a clean install but no luck.
Hopefully someone can help me solve this,
Thanks,

UPDATE ***
Ok after a lot of testing I've found that TMS is having issues with loading the directory holding all of my videos. I'm wondering if there's a Maximum size or number of subdirectories that TMS can cache? i'm a little confused as it was working earlier and it had no problems.
Thanks again for any advice anyone can share,
