Empty i-Tunes playlists in 5.1.2..

Post by Wires » Mon Jan 25, 2010 2:27 am

I was running 5.0.68 with no issues. But if I try 5.1 -> 5.1.13 RC1, they all show my itunes playlists, when you select them, it parses them for a while, and then they come up blank.

I think it may be because my itunes library/playlists are mapped to a network drive.

Currently I have:
WS2008 running TwonkyMedia
- music on a local F: drive.
- network drive m: mapped on the server to f:\music (on that server).
- itunes library mapped to the m:\music (network drive)

The reason being is I run itunes on the server for our phone's music on hold, and it's library is mapped to m:. This allows me to copy the itunes folder to my desktop pc so I can use itunes to play music locally. If I mapped the server libraries to f:, then when copied to my desktop pc, all the links would be broken.

Did something change in 5.1.x that prevents that from working?

Turns out I answered my question. Yes something changed that prevents the newer versions from accessing network drive names.

After much pain, I changed the drive letter to "m:", fixed shares and mapping to my other pcs but it's running.

The new database is much faster and 5.1.2, so the pain was worth it. :D
