Obviously the Twonky team is away, probably in Las Vegas :D
Let's take that opportunity.

I am satisfied, but I am only using limited number of features related to music only. Installation went fine on the NSLU2 and it works OK (minor issues or bugs such as shoutcast genres, playing now, etc.).
I wish some features were described in manual (vTuner, FLAC, etc.) and I also wish that some more new features were available (transcoding, WMA radios, embedded print music directory, etc.)

Interface is better but I am STILL having lots of problems:
1. No thumbnails despite proper configuration
2. NSLU2 version will not find all my media although my Fedora box does

Interface IS much better but what does it matter if the media isn't present and features don't work?

Much better UI, seems a bit quicker. Crashed once already though. The old 2.9.1 never crashed on me at all during all the time I used it.

Haven't run anything other than music devices off of it so far, will be interesting to see how it copes with video streaming.

Cheers,

Drew.

not happy

I've had problems with folders dissapearing, which never happened before. v3 seems unable to deal with songs with a duplicate title which are on a different album. Long folder names also seem to throw it. :(

MP3 Transcoding Give File Format Error on Linksys WMLS11B

Post by khubbell » Wed Jan 04, 2006 8:18 am

I've never been pleased with the video support provided by Twonkyvision but I've really liked the audio features. Been using Mediaserver 2.91 to serve over 10,000 MP3s from one NSLU2 to four WMLS11B's. Worked very time, all the time.

Running 3.0 on Windows XP and now my MP3 are unplayable. The transcoding of MP3 to WAV causes a File Format Error on the WMLS11B.

I've copied the transcoded WAV file over to the music content directory and the WMLS11B will play the file.

Would like to be able to turn off transcoding of MP3s. My player supports the MP3 format. Why take the time to transcode this format type? Plus the MP3 tag information is lost when transcoded to WAV.

BTW, transcoding of the FLAC format to WAV does work. The WMLS11B does not have support FLAC. So this works, but I don't need nor want FLAC support.

many tweaks later...

I thought it would be worth adding that after a lot more fiddling around with the config TV is OK now. Still some annoyances but liveable!

Hi,

TV 3.0 is OK and has a nice GUI. But it crashes on my NSLU2 and I step back to 2.9.1 and wait for 3.0.1

Ciao
Dirk
